1948 Gene Krupa

Comment Al Porcino:
Here we are in Chicago in a recording studio. That’s the Gene Krupa trumpet section. What I find really comical about this picture is that the photographer printed it backwards. As you can see we’re all playing trumpet left-handed instead of right-handed.
Oh yeah, now I see it, he mixed the sides up from left to right and right to left.
The negative turned over. Anyhow, I’ll tell you the names of the trumpet players:
That’s me on the left, Al Porcino, Ray Triscari next to me, Armin Donelly, and one of the really fine Jazz players, Don Fagerquist. And that was the recording session with Gene Krupa in Chicago, 1948.
